#4 LSU TIGERS

DETAILS: SEPTEMBER 15 at AUBURN

The conference opener will be against the LSU Tigers, a team that turned heads last season after beginning the year on a rough note by being blown out by Mississippi State, and then losing at home on the bayou to Troy from the Sun Belt Conference. The Bayou Bengals struggled with Florida before upsetting Auburn in Baton Rouge, which began an upswing that saw them lose only once (Alabama) to close out the season.

There are questions about what LSU will do offensively. Derrius Guice will need to be replaced, it seems that Nick Brosette will be the guy. There’s even more uncertainty with the quarterback position. Three players are currently in the running, Myles Brennan, Lowell Narcisse, and Ohio State transfer, Joe Burrow. Brennan received the most first-team reps in the spring, but there was no indication that he will be the starter. Burrow, a four-star prospect who spent his time as an undergrad at Ohio State, comes to LSU as a graduate transfer and has two years of eligibility and throws a wrench into the quarterback race.

Expect another thriller, like the one in 2016, with Auburn coming out on top.

PREDICTION: Auburn 24 LSU 21
