Auburn Football: 2018 Schedule and Predictions
May 3, 2018 By Cameron CaldwellSeptember 29: Southern Miss (Auburn)
The Golden Eagles come off an 8-5 season with high expectations. Auburn is the only Power-5 team they will face all season, and the Tigers will be playing their 4th straight home game.
Southern Miss is traditionally a good program from Conference-USA, and it will be interesting to see how they attack Auburn. Their QB situation is not yet decided, but will likely come down to Keon Howard and Marcelo Rodriguez.
Auburn’s tenacious defense should give Southern Miss’ offense fits all night, and Kam Martin will have his first big night of the season, going for over 200 yards.

October 6: Mississippi State (Starkville)
The Tigers won’t play a true road game until October, and they visit the Bulldogs of Mississippi State and their new head coach, Joe Moorhead. Nick Fitzgerald should be a strong candidate for SEC Player of the Year, and this will be a big test for him.
Auburn has had no trouble scoring on State in recent seasons, and this year will be no different. The offense will feed off the home crowd, and will keep them around for roughly 3 quarters. Jarrett Stidham and the passing game will kick in and take over, and escape Starvegas with a win.

October 13: Tennessee (Auburn)
There’s a lot of excitement up in Knoxville, and for good reason. Jeremy Pruitt takes over at the helm and looks to right the orange ship. The only problem is, there might not be enough firepower to keep up with the big dogs of the conference.
Auburn will come in 6-0, and likely playing their best football of the year. The uncertainty of the Volunteer quarterback situation makes this matchup hard to predict. I expect Keller Chryst to be named the starter, ahead of Jarrett Guarantano. The Tigers will run all day on the Vols, which won’t stand a chance to the SEC’s elite.
